Internet of Things

When the future Internet is discussed the never declining amount of new connected objects around us is often brought up. The Internet of Things is a concept saying that every object around us that may benefit from becoming a part of the Internet will be. This might happen either by direct connection to the Internet or the ability to be represented in some virtual form.

Internet of Things could be directly translated into “sakernas Internet” in Swedish, even thou this Swedish interpretation could be somewhat misleading. Other expression for this or similar concepts include ambient intelligence and ubiquitous computing.
