“Bank” in domain names

In March, the Swedish Post and Telecom Agency (PTS) published the supervisory report Tilldelning av domännamn under .se (PTS-ER-2009:17) (“Allocation of domain names under the national top-level domain .se”, available in Swedish only).

The report left the impression that .SE should add the term “bank” to its list of reserved terms. .SE believes that this standpoint is not supported by the Act on National Top-level Domains for Sweden on the Internet (the Top-Domain Act) (2006:24).

On June 10, 2009, in a response to the PTS, .SE provided an explanation for its views on the PTS’s recommendations (available in Swedish only) 

On August 27, 2009, the PTS advised .SE to protect the term “bank” in domain names (available in Swedish only).
